A packet of oreo, a packet of mamee, a packet of biscuits, one jelly and one small chocolate is all it takes to make one fun pack. and it takes one fun pack to make a big difference. For my class service-learning, we bought boxes of oreos, biscuits, jellies and chocolate to make "fun packs" which were to be sold at 2.50 each and all the profits were to be given to a charity.
This service-learning has been a real eye opener for me. up until now, i never really cared about the needy. After the service learning, it has make me aware of many charities and also made me realised that there are still many out there that needs help.
Througout the whole service-learning, the moment that most stand out was when we were selling the fun packs in the canteen. i initially did not feel that our plan would work out but many people started to buy our fun packs. some were more generous and even gave us donations in small amounts. this made me realise that there are still many people who are keen in helping the needy.
I can see myself being actively involved with the community. it gives alot of learning experiences and give me a chance to socialise and interact with my community. I love helping out and would be keen in doing more of such activities. :)
