In our service learning, we packed some "Gift Packs" and sold these packs to raise money for a charity.
Service learning helped me to develop more interactions among my friends, develop teamwork, and
helped to build greater friendship. I also became more mindful of our community. I can see that I am very
privileged, and there are other people who are less privileged than me. Hence, I should not take my privilege
for granted, and try the best I can do to help other people who are less fortunate. Through service learning,
I became more involved with the community around me, and I saw how nice and beautiful our community is.
There were both good things and bad things that came in during our service learning. The worst thing that
came in was that sometimes people would not buy our "gift packs", and it was very difficult to get someone to
buy. There were some days which we could not sell at all. However, I have learnt through this experience that
whatever difficulties that came into our way or our lives, we should not give up, as one day,we will definitely
achieve our goal that we had aimed for. Also, running around selling "gift packs" provided me a lot of happiness
and fun!
About seeing myself staying involve with my community in the future or not, that I really do not know. I may
go and study overseas, or get involved in other activities. However, I will not give up. I will try my best to help
the community as much as I can.
